A multi-level Mill building required a comprehensive R&D survey prior to the full strip-out, re-modelling and conversion into residential and commercial use. Complex internal spaces and layout made inspections difficult in some areas with possession waste proving difficult to navigate around. Survey planning was extremely important to ensure all spaces were surveyed and assessed.
The survey was completed in a methodical and organised manner with large open plan workspaces smaller business units, circulation spaces & plant areas being surveyed. The intrusive elements of the survey were completed to ensure no asbestos material was omitted from the survey. Numerous samples were collected for laboratory analysis and the final report was detailed and easy to understand.
Following an assessment of the report, Grosvenor Asbestos Solutions were asked to plan and quote for asbestos removal. The asbestos removal would be completed once the existing services are isolated and possession waste removed. Careful planning and timing is paramount to ensure other trades are not impacted whilst asbestos removal is being completed.
Outcome
Detailed report issued from which the client can obtain competitive costings for the asbestos removal phase of the project.
