A pre-refurbishment asbestos survey of a linked, light industrial unit to enable a full strip out and remodel. The survey was completed under the guidance laid out in HSE guidance document HSG264 Asbestos: The survey guide.
Access gained into all inaccessible / void spaces and appropriate, safe sampling and recording completed. Following sample analysis the final report was a detailed document that allowed the client to manage the risks from the identified asbestos-containing materials (ACMs).
Grosvenor Asbestos Solutions were engaged to remove the majority of the ACMs to enable the fit out. The non-licensed materials were removed or encapsulated to make them safe, with the notifiable works being sub-contracted through a joint venture partner organisation with close liaising with Grosvenor Asbestos Solutions and the client.
All works were completed to stringent RAMS, with completion paperwork produced and waste notes issued.
Outcome
Satisfied customer was able to fit out the units within their initial timescales.
